Join us for our 'Intro to Electronic Music' camp, where campers will embark on an exciting journey into the world of music production. Using professional tools like Ableton Live, students will learn the essentials of creating music, from crafting catchy beats and melodies to experimenting with sounds and arranging tracks. Throughout the week, campers will explore the process of making electronic music, honing their skills in songwriting, sound design, and production. Whether they aspire to be DJs, producers, or simply want to explore the creative possibilities of music, this camp provides a fun and hands-on experience. By the end of the week, each camper will have created their own original track and will be equipped with the knowledge to continue producing music at home.

What to Expect at Camp

  • Drop-off and Arrival: Drop-off begins at 9:00 AM at the Lloyd Center. Please arrive no earlier than 8:45 AM. Upon arrival, we'll check students in and get them started with a warm-up activity to ease into the day. Parents are asked not to stay during camp hours.

  • Daily Schedule: Mornings are structured with three 45-minute sessions focused on different aspects of music production, interspersed with breaks for snacks, stretching, and "wiggle time." The afternoons offer an opportunitie for open production time, for students to finish working on projects started in the morning.

  • Behavior Expectations: We expect students to treat our staff, fellow campers, and equipment with respect. If necessary, we may contact parents to discuss any issues and, in certain cases, request early pick-up.

  • End of Week: We always like to take the final hour of camp to use as a student showcase, inviting families and friends to come to our space and listen to students work in person. Students will also be given a thumb drive with exports of all their work, so they can keep what they’ve worked on at camp.

What to Bring

  • Lunch and Snacks: We provide a light snack, but if your camper has specific dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, vegan), please ensure they bring their own. Campers should also pack a lunch.

  • Clothing: Our space tends to stay cool due to the mall’s air conditioning, so we recommend sending your camper with layers for comfort.

  • Electronic Devices: To keep the focus on music production, we ask that campers leave phones, smartwatches, and communication devices at home. They’ll have plenty of time to focus on class activities. This includes phones, smart watches, or tablets.
